Report it to the police. It is a personal assault. You do not need any money to report a crime. Also, be sure to document the event. If there were any marks or bruising, be sure to take photos, if you can go to a hospital and make a record there, that's even better. If anyone witnessed it, be sure to give the police a list of names.

Don't bother going to the police, the police don't even prosecute serious criminals, so there is no chance they will prosecute minor offenses.
I have been hit by people for no reason other than they dislike me, and I have found that the best thing to do usually is just to walk away and not bother with that person again. If everyone did this, these type of violent criminals would soon run out of friends and they would either have to change their ways or be lonely.
I have pressed charges once or twice in the past and have learned that it just ain't worth doing. They get a slap on the wrists and you just waste lots of time to get no result. It sounds unfair (and it is), but until they start punishing criminals severely it just ain't worth pressing charges for these types of things.

Why would a "friend" hit you so bad? Sounds like thats no friend at all. But, if you truely are friends, and the act of violence was a heat of the moment thing and you two can work past this, maybe pursuing legal action against her isn't the best solution. If your wounds are not life threatening or deforming, maybe you should just let it be. If you still want her to be your friend, pressing charges will definately end that friendship for ever. It sounds like you 2 have some maturity issues and you either grow up and deal with them, and consider if the reason she decked you, you deserved it, or move on.

If you live on an American base, go to the post M.P.'s If you live in Germany proper, that is to say, if you're subject to German law, go to the Polizei.
How much time and energy is up to you. Do you think you can forgive her, and if so, do you think she'll hit you again? What did you do for her to hit you like that?

You need to go to the police station, explain to the officer what exactly happened and they will tell you what you have rights to for this kind of abuse. what you can and can;t do against the abuser. Then they will show you what step to take next to place charges on that person or whatever. Make sure you know their first/last name and their adress. Very important.
Good luck and don't take abuse from anyone it's not right!!!

This is the American site. You will need to contact someone who is familiar with German law. Better yet, tell your mother or dad. They can talk to her parents.

If you're a minor then you probably can't press criminal charges, but you might be able to sue her if she's rich and you have a good lawyer.
