I recently was given what I think is a maltese puppy. I was told he is 8 weeks, but I'm pretty sure he's a lot younger. He doesn't have any teeth, just bumps that look like they'll break the skin soon.

the maltese are known to be slow on cutting theyre teeth... i know we breed them ... they can be up to 12 weeks of age and i have even had morkies cut theyre teeth late...i have a little guy here he is now 10 weeks old and still hasnt cut all of his teeth....dont worry they will come out and it doesnt stop them from eating dry either... dont make the food to soft let him chew a little it helps cut faster .

It's not unusual for a toy breed to be slow in getting their puppy teeth in. It can be hard to tell the age without seeing the whole pup. Have your vet check for you. Feed him soft food until his teeth come in.

if it has no teeth, it's a very young puppy, puppies get teeth about when they are two to three weeks old, you got a very young puppy, good luck with it.
