For the people who are offended at the questioners request that only Americans and not even Hispanic-Americans reply:
The request is fair. If you are from another country, it is easy for you to say you agree with the immigrants. The same goes for Hispanic-Americans. Even if you are here legally, you are going to be biased in favor of immigrants.

I think LEGAL immigrants offer a lot of positive diversity to our country. I can understand the people of other nationalities who are tempted to enter the country any way they can, however, that is not only illegal, it is unfair to those who work to enter the U.S.legally.

If you're legal, no problem. If you're illegal, BIG problem. I'm happy that the ICE is out there doing its' job. They're the unsung heroes of this whole mess, they have to sort through all the ID theft and the rest of it. If more people supported both the US Border Patrol and the ICE, I think it'd send a positive message across the country. Maybe they'll have businesses with an 'ICE standards-compliant organization' eventually, to help clarify.

Immigration's good, a positive force in our lives. Comma. It has to be done legally, or that positive effect is lost. Other countries can spend their own monies(which in many cases, came FROM the US anyway) to build hospitals, schools, roads, all that good infrastructure stuff that paves the path for societal success, now, given, that's all hard work, but it's not impossible.

Legal immigrants are a benefit to this country under our current laws. Of course our current laws are tilted towards skilled workers, as are the laws of most countries, so immigration is beneficial by design if it is legal.

However, illegal immigration is a real problem. Not only is it disproportionately criminal, (not counting illegal presence) it is typically poor, and poor people use more money in services than they pay in taxes. That is why our laws limit how many poor immigrants can come. If there were fewer of them, the problem would be smaller, but 12 to 20 million of them is a huge number and a huge problem. It is not just monetary, it is ruining education in the areas where illegal immigrants concentrate, and is thereby destroying our own children's future upward mobility through education.

Their better life is at our expense, and our children are paying an unacceptable price.

Wolfmusic - 46% of Latino voters voted in favor of Arizona's Proposition 200 limiting benefits to illegal immigrants and requiring proof of citizenship to vote. Those with actual family illegally here want their family legalized, but the problem is big enough that all citizens know it is a problem.

Maybe we should have asked the Native American Indians when we all came over & invaded their land. It's going to happen no matter what. I believe that there alot of homeless americans because there are not alot of jobs left, why pay the price of a skilled laboror when you can pay an immigrant pennies on the dollar. Alot of drugs are brought into the US every day too, which is absolutely horrible if you are a parent who wants to make it harder for your child to get drugs, as of now I could probably walk across the street and get drugs. It also saddens me that they are getting too much goverment assistance, free food, gas, tires for there cars which are nicer than the one I am driving, and lets not forget welfare. I am not prejudice to all new immigrants but I am to those who come over to live of our taxes. If you come here to get a better life than you need to work for everything you get just like us Americans.

Every one here is an immigrant as we all migrated form Africa. Immigrants aren't your problem dishonest employers who hire them illegaly and your politicians who do not seal the borders or prosecute employers of illegals are your problem.

That guy is trying to survive at a basic level just like you are. If your president were so worried about terror as he claims why doesn't he close the borders?
Why do taxpayers subsidize companies that outsource the good jobs then illegaly hire immigrants to work the remaining jobs for less than prevailing wage?

We have become a nation of Quixotesque people, tilting at windmills.

Have no problem with immigrates if they enter the country properly. I'm sure most are just seeking a better life. With that said though i think even legal immigration doesn't need to be stopped but but slowed down immensely.

oh don't even get me started...i live down here in southern AZ and let me tell you something about these "immigrants" as you so call them...the majority are illegal aliens, did you get that ILLEGAL. they come here and steal our jobs, like for instance home construction, and turn out piss poor quality. Their culture is so much different then ours, they claim they want to get away from everythings that is wrong about their country so they come here and they bring it with them...whether it be drugs or lifestyle...mexican men are pigs, the older the dirtier, they come here and rape and kill our young american women and it has to stop!

Does your question imply that you don't want Mexican Americans to answer this? Yet you asked for Americans only to answer. I,m just curious, makes no sense.

They are hard working people who do the work to help their families. They are people who have the right to be here because they came here 1st than all us Americans.
