There are probably some english teachers on here... and they are doing the same thing I am everytime I see all the spelling and grammatical errors... just shake my head and wonder where these people were when they were supposed to be learning how to correctly write a sentence... or even spell a simple word. It is really sad, some people on here show how ignorant they truly are when they type the question... do they speak like that also... and if they do, does anyone understand them? I think they need to start over again with the Dick and Jane Books.

Abysmal, isn't it? I have a credential to teach English in California's secondary schools.

Here's how I deal with the poor grammar and atrocious spelling: I try to overlook it and treat the queries as if they came from my students. That way I can deal with their sincere wish to know and not get into the judgmental phase.

HOWEVER, do users realize that there is a handy spellchecker right here in Yahoo!Answers? And there's always good old-fashioned proofreading before hitting send.

By the way, The word "English" is a proper adjective and should always be capitalized. Hey, you asked for English teachers. LOL

To CowboyBill below - that's a snide response. I take it rather personally.

Yes I believe there are. However, my dear, be sensible enough. You will not just barrage people with comments regarding their grammar. We have to take into consideration the kinds of people using yahoo. Remember, not all users come from native English-speaking countries. It may be painful for us who know some rules ( we do not know all the rules because noone is perfect) but there's nothing we can do. Let's just hope that they'll learn from others using this site. Be sensitive enough. That's why we are here. We want to answer and help. Just keep your cool my dear.

I am not an English teacher and it drives me nuts. When I answer questions I try to put in the correct spelling and grammar.

I have no idea if anyone even notices, but I hope just one person will learn something.
