Because back in the day, it was a completely patriarchal society. Women had no rights, they were baby machines. That didn't really even change much till the past 100 yrs. So, the MEN who wrote the bible, even if they were inspired by god, could not have written that women were equals. They would have been laughed at, and the rest of the bible would have lost credibility too.

Sad part is, some religions, like Catholicism, still consider women "less than" men. Ever seen a female Catholic priest? Nope, and ya never will. Apparently ovaries make us unworthy.

Wait wait wait....

OK.... Some say men was created first?
That's not "some person" saying that.. that is the word of god saying that.. not a man...

Religious rights? As in who gets to be ordained? That was man's decision, not God's.

Eve commited the first sin of falling from temptation... Adam followed suit...according to the word of God.. Seriously... I dont think I would want a guy to have a baby.. not a pretty thought...
hah Im being sarcastic..
But god Has a plan.. everything does happen for a reason and we are not all supposed to know all his reasons.. that's why we have faith...

And there are women adored in the Church.. mary magdalene.. Mother Mary... You should check out a bible call the NIV Womans bible.. it talks about all the good things women did in the bible..

maybe it will help you in your thinking!
Good luck

Everybody makes mistakes. No body is perfect.I don't believe GOD is a man at all.So you can call him a HE, SHE, or IT if you prefer. But I call THE GOD a him because I just got accustomed to it.I call THE GOD a HIM and the earth a HER.I won't call the earth a HIM.And I resect her highly for what people do to HER.And SHE waits for my return. But so does HE.And I beleive in adam and eve but when it comes down to it.Does it really matter for me today?I read the bible before and there are such things as female prophets. They were called prophetees in the old testament.I just follow my truth and the world turns. The sun will raise again tommorow to shine on a new face. The sun will go down and the moon will come to let you see at night.Like a big nite lite.It is what it is.

Funny how many christian women would rather defend god than themselves. Note if i marry a christian women and she is not a virgin I will have her stoned in front of her dads house.

Men have always had more power than women, if only because they are physically stronger and this gave men enough pride to think they were more intelligent too.
Well Men and Women are equals aside from physical strength. So women should have the right to be priests, and preach gods word as much as any man can.
I dont believe in god but i especially hate that it is always in favor of men. i believe in equality between men and women because if i get married i want my wife to be my equal, not my slave

> Are one phrase solutions a suitable type of conversation right here on Y!A? Absolutely. > I supply insightful funny solutions Well, it relies what you imply through that. A brief however well-religion reply is excellent (adding "sure" or "no" if that is what the query requested for). If you imply a few sort of quip that does not truthfully reply the query in any simple feel, then it perhaps reportable as a non-reply or trolling. One character's insightful humour is a further's dull funny story. Easiest reply is to hold clear of P&S. I'm definite you *recognise* it is the dustbin of Y!A, and any interplay with the sort of timewasting bilge in there's more likely to be reportable.

For the most part you are correct. But not all the messengers were men. Angels have spoken to many people, and God even spoke with Moses directly. But believe it or not. I'd rather have my faith and the love of my Lord than take the chance of burning in hell.

Umm, when they say man is created first, they mean mankind, and Adam and Eve both made they mistake cause they both didn't listen to God and ate the apple.

good question....if you look at the animal king dome I think you'll find the the male plays the dominant role most often. This isn't to say that women are worse or less by any means. We all have our roles in life i guess. And by the way Adam could have said no

At first, I thought your question had to do with how God communicated to people in the past, that is called "Anthropomorphism". It means that since God is a spirit with no human qualities, then he cannot be understood or fathomed by any human being unless he Condecends...he must communicate on man's level and has to use human descriptions of himself in order for us to understand him (God's hands, the face of God, the finger of God, the mouth of God). However in other places he also has wings (although he is not a celestial chicken!). God is spirit...we understand him in human terms.
But you are wondering why women get a bad rap in many religions. It is only in the last few centuries (give or take) that women have achieved an elevated status. In Genesis Chapter 2, it says that she was created equal to Adam, the man. Also, it says that she was created from man's side (not his "rib"...that is a poor translation). This also implies her equality. However, she was created as a coequal teammate that is subordinate to man's authority. God came to man, not woman, first in the garden after the sin. When the New Testament authors speak of sin, they largely call it the "sin of Adam" or the "curse of Adam". Adam was first and foremost to blame, though Eve shared the blame.
But we must notice something very important...Jesus allowed the first people to witness his resurrection to be women. Also, there were leaders in the church who were women. (also in the Old Testament...look at Deborah). Part of the Curse in the Garden of Eden was that woman would fight to subdue man, and man would put her down by force...this is sin/evil. However, the more godly women of the Bible fully accept their position and are both strong and feminine (a very attractive trait to many men). Women were trod underfoot by many men for centuries because they were physically weaker than men. In hand to hand combat before gunpowder, women were at a disadvantage. But the modern age has seen advances in technology and in education and in availability of many things to everyone that women did not have in the past. Multitudes of men have grown soft and women have grown bold. The latter is a good thing. Notice also that where much of this has occured are in Christianized countries. China does not treat women as equals in America. Neither will you find this equality in India, Africa, many parts of Asia, and especially Islamic countries (where terrible abuse of women is rampant).
Christian ideas led to this equal treatment of women.
It is sad that many women see femininity as a weakness. What is very odd to me is radical feminism criticising men who display forms of masculinity, and yet the women seek to embrace this same form of masculinity in order to be "strong". Strenth can be found in both masculinity and femininity. Both are awe-inspiring in their own ways.

Quite simply - because men wrote to books and then ascribed them to God.
The whole of religion is a scam perpetrated by fraudsters on the gullible to increase their own power and influence.
Either that or they suffered from hallucinations.
