Why would he control you?
How old are you???
Do you still live at home?
You don't have a say in who your mom marries. However, you can have a discussion with your mom about what his role in your family will be. If you still live at home and are a minor, then make it clear that you are more comfortable with her enforcing the rules. Use lots of non-aggressive "I" sentences rather than accusatory "you" sentences. For example "I'm a little concerned about how Bob will be involved with the discipline and rules in the house. I think that I would prefer if you (mom) are the basic rule maker and enforcer since I'm so comfortable with you. " Rather than "Bob sucks and I can't believe you married him. You better not let him control me or I will run away and call child abuse hotline."
Don't forget that talking to an understanding counselor can also be helpful. If both of you go in, it will help provide a neutral environment and a neutral arbitor and help make both of your concerns heard. Good luck to you. : )

Not enough information. How old are you - will you be living with him? Your mother will marry whomever she chooses - you don't get to pick your mother's husband. How would he control YOU? If you're underage and will be living with him - make it clear NOW that he will not control you. You do have to abide with the rules of his household, however, assuming he's providing for you and your mother.
If you really can't stand the guy and are of age to leave -do it. If your mother becomes unhappy, there is nothing you can do about it except commiserate. Do not speak against him because they'll be happy as clams the next day. Then you'll be the one causing her heartache.
All marriages have their ups and downs - this IS NOT your marriage.

We need more information about who you and your mom are. Are you an adult? Have you talked to your mom? Why is she marrying him? Give us more details.
