The best meatballs I've made, you take hamburger meat, 2 eggs, and Italian bread crumbs. You then bake them for like 30 mins.
Use spaghetti sauce, not pizza sauce. Add some garlic to the sauce, and maybe basil and oregano. Have some fun!

Meatballs:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs (just toast 2 slices of bread and then crumble them until the pieces are very small)
1/2 cup milk
1 minced onion
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon allspice or pepper
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Gather small pieces (the size of golf balls or smaller) and roll them in your hand until they are round. Heat a frying pan on the stove over medium heat. When you drop a few drops of water on the pan and they sizzle, the pan is hot enough to cook in. Put the meatballs in the pan, leaving enough space so that they don't touch. You might have to do more than one batch. Turn them every few minutes until they are browned on all sides and cooked all the way through (8-10 minutes - they cook faster if they are smaller, but then you end up cooking more batches). To make sure they are done, break one in half and make sure that there is no pink left in the meat. If you have to do more than one batch, take the cooked ones out of the pan and put them in a bowl while the others cook. Or, if you have sauce heating on the stove, you can just put them directly in the sauce to keep them warm.
For the sauce: you can use pizza sauce if that is what you have. If you have canned mushrooms, you can add those too. If you have some Italian seasoning I would add some of that, 1/2 teaspoon at a time until the flavor is right. If you don't have any Italian seasoning you can add 1/4 teaspoon of oregano and/or basil, and maybe 1/8 teaspoon of fennel seed. You will probably also want to add some salt and pepper. Heat the sauce until it is hot over medium or low heat on the stove before adding any of the seasonings, though, because they will taste different in warm sauce than in cold. Add in small amounts, taste the sauce, and then add more if the sauce needs it - you can always add more, but you can't take it out once its in.
Good luck! I'm not sure how old you are but I started cooking for my family when I was about 10 and these are perfect dishes for when you are just starting out. Just remember to be careful when working around the stove.

I am married to an Italian for 27 years so here goes:
To make the meatballs, you get an egg, breadcrumbs, oregano, garlic power or if you are lucky to have Italian seasoning use that.
Next form the meatballs. and then you fry them in a little olive oil if u have it, a corn oil if not Turning them frequently..by this time the house is smelling good.
Pizza sauce is OK, but it isn't as thick as spaghetti sauce. Yes, you have to heat it. Put a cover on the pan (or bowl if you heat it in the microwave) so it doesn't splatter.
After the meatballs are cooked you can add them to the sauce. You do know how to make the spaghetti right?
Good luck.

no no no - do not listen to anyone here. If they are telling you to use oregano they are wrong!!! Only cheesy pizza places who do not know how to cook use oregano.
REAL Italian Meatballs:
Mix together:
one pound ground beef
One egg
1/3 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1tbsp dried parsley
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/3 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper.
roll into ball shape and either
cook them in the oven at 350 for @20 minutes or
fry them in a frying pan with olive oil, turning often until done
REAL Italian tomato sauce:
1 large can tomato puree
1 large can crushed tomatoes
2 cloves garlic chopped fine (or 1 tbsp minced garlic)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
First in a big pot heat olive oil and garlic just until soft (you do not want to burn it) - then add tomatoes and all seasonings. Bring to a slow boil and then turn heat down..
Add cooked meatballs...
This needs to cook at least 2-3 hours on a low heat.... make sure the bottom does not burn...
Remove meatballs and put in separate bowl to serve,
Pour sauce over spaghetti and Voila!!! Bon appetit!!

O.K. here is what you should try. Next time you make spaggheti, boil some mild Italian sausage. after they are done, cut them into 1 inch pieces and add them to your sauce. put the sauce on low until it warms, cook the spaggheti seperate. drain it and add the sauce with the mild italian sausage and mix it together. It is the best spaggheti you will ever have. Do not pick best answer until you try this. Trust me! IT IS THE BEST YOU WILL EVER HAVE!!

I like to make my meatballs with half hamburger and half italian sausage. The sausage adds a lot of flavor to the meatballs.
Also, do not brown the meatballs before placing them in the sauce. Depending on the size you will need to cook them 30-60 minutes or until they are no longer pink, but you lose a lot of flavor by browning them or precooking them in the oven.
Finally, I like a lot of spices in my tomato sauce, but that is all personal choice.

Follow this recipe and your questions will be answered! :)
Spaghetti and Meatballs Recipe
One Original Spaghetti and Meatball Recipe
1-pound box of spaghetti noodles
1-pound of lean ground beef
2 large cans of crushed tomatoes
1 small can of tomato paste
1 tomato paste can of water
½ cup of Italian style bread crumbs
1 large egg
1-tablespoon of ketchup
3 cloves of fresh garlic, remove skin and chop (these are 3-individual pieces off the clump of garlic)
Olive oil
1-teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 level teaspoon of sugar
1/8 teaspoon of season salt
1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder
¼ teaspoon of Italian spice or oregano (optional)
¼ cup of grated Romano cheese
1/8 teaspoon of regular salt
½ teaspoon of kosher salt for spaghetti noodle water
In a large mixing bowl, add all of the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped garlic, ketchup, grated Romano cheese, 1 egg, season salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian spice or oregano and Worcestershire sauce.
Blend the above ingredients together very well and then form the mixture into meatballs.
Choose a large pot with a lid and add the 2 cans of crushed tomatoes and set aside.
Prepare a large skillet with olive oil and place the skillet over medium heat.
Begin by frying the meatballs until they are lightly brown on all sides and then drain the oil from the skillet and add the 1 can of tomato paste along with 1 tomato paste can of water.
Blend the sauce into the meatballs gently and continue cooking over medium-low heat until the sauce is hot and steaming through the meatballs.
Remove the meatballs and tomato paste sauce from the heat and carefully pour all of it into the pot containing the crushed tomatoes.
Add the regular salt to taste or approximately 1/8 of a teaspoonful.
Stir the sauce.
Add 1 level teaspoon of sugar to the pot of spaghetti sauce and stir.
Stir the spaghetti sauce mixture together very well and simmer partially covered over medium-low or low heat for approximately 45-55 minutes.
Stir often to make sure the sauce does not stick or burn, reduce the heat if necessary.
Remove the spaghetti sauce from the heat when it is ready to serve, but do not remove the lid. Simply set it aside and allow it to rest while you prepare the spaghetti noodles.
Cook the spaghetti noodles as directed on the box. We add a touch of olive oil and a pinch of kosher salt to the spaghetti water.
After adding the spaghetti noodles to the boiling water, stir, pick and separate them using a long fork or such to keep the noodles from sticking together. Repeat this process several times while cooking.
When the spaghetti noodles are tender, drain them using a colander and rinse them under cool water to stop the cooking process.
Shake off excess water and place the spaghetti noodles in a serving bowl.
If you like you can add just a touch of olive oil to the plain spaghetti noodles to prevent them from sticking together.
Simply add a little olive oil around the top, here and there, and use two forks to move the spaghetti noodles around in the olive oil.
If needed you can reheat the spaghetti noodles quickly by running them under hot water or setting the colander of noodles back down into a pot of hot water for just a minute or two.
Serve the spaghetti sauce and spaghetti noodles in separate serving bowls.
Dress the dinner table by offering grated Romano cheese and warm garlic bread.

pizza sauce and spaghetti sauce are very different. you need one for spaghetti. to make meatballs, you need crushed up crackers, an egg, a pound of ground beef. mix that stuff up, and roll into balls. also, when you boil the water for your noodles, put in some oil, garlic powder, lots of pepper, and italian seasonings.

for spaghetti, I would not sugest just using tomato paste, try making your own out of tomato paste and basil, throw in some parmessan cheese, and garlic for flavor. I hope this helps, also to try a fun way to test if the spaghetti is done throw it against the wall and if it sticks then it is ok.
