Have you every heard of a fart that smelled GOOD?
I know that wasn't what you asked, but I had to chuckle at the way that you phrased your question.
Cats, in the wild, usually eat only small animals, insects, other creepy-crawlies, and maybe a little bit of grass and weeds. Pet cats get cat food that's made with lots of grains. And cats are often fed milk--which they LIKE, but which isn't usually too good for them, because of all of the lactose (milk sugar), which cats cannot digest. Milk and grains will give many cat a bad case of "the farts," because their digestive systems aren't naturally set up to handle those types of foods.

Well, it could be the food he is eating. Try a different food and see if it is any better. It could just be that he has a lot of gas. But if you are really concerned and if it doesn't get any better when you change foods, take him to the vet to see if there is anything you can do or if there is anything wrong with him so you can treat it.
Hope i helped!

What do you expect them to smell like? Roses? :-)
If he's having soft stools also, it could be an intestinal upset. Did you change his diet recenty?

They eat bad food. It is hard to digest that stuff.
Well it's not 'fresh meat' even if the adds tell you so.
