there are loads of good software out there for backing up,but i normally use disk burning software like nero or roxio
simply buy around 10 dvd-r disks and burn all your drives data to disk,i presume you have some kind of burning program
if you dont why not try looking at http://www.download.com/3150-2242_4-0-1-0.html?qt=&author=&titlename=&desc=&dlcount=&daysback=&swlink=&gfiletype=&os=&li=49&dlsize=&ca=
this page has loads of free back up programs as i have filtered them down for you,try to pick a program with a popular name as some of these are a bit rubbish, but there are a few really good ones
good luck

I recomend using no software other than your dvd, or cd burner.

Simply drag and drop specific folders you know contain things you want to keep onto onto the disc. For loose files, create a folder, and drag them into it.

You may find the files you want to keep this way, take up much less space then the backup program hinted at.

DVD+R Is the best bet for this, fitting about 4.3 gigs on 1 disc. However, cd+rs work also.

You may want to conduct searches, for example for all "*.txt" files (your notes), or your "*.mp3" files.

You cannot b ackup programs. When they are installed, they become a different animal from what they were when they were the installer or setup.exe. So there is no hope for backing up an installed program.

Good luck. Take a day or 2 and go over what you want to keep before reformatting...

All versions of Windows include backup programs—but they do not always install themselves by default (XP Home, for example).

To install the Windows backup program: Put the original installation disk in your CD drive and navigate to the folder called /Valueadd/msft/ntbackup.

You will see a file entitled ntbackup.msi. Double-click this file and it will install the free backup program. The free backup program will then appear in the Systems Tools folder (click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools, Backup). You can now put (backup) the data on another computer, another hard drive, a CD.

There are other programs that will backup to CDs. The software that came with the CD drive should allow you to backup to CDs. If not, here are a few other programs to consider:
Roxio CD-Creator:http://www.roxio.com
Backup to CD-RW:http://www.willowsoft.com/backup/index.html
Handy Backup:http://www.handybackup.com/

The normal windows backup command is reliable. You can back up your files to another area of your hard drive and then copy them to a CD. But beware, getting stuff back of CD can be difficult. It would be better to get an external disk drive (plug into USB port) and copy your files from one drive to the other.

You can save all of your files onto CDs. I do this with my pictures, music, word documents, spreadsheets, etc. Just insert a blank CD into your CD drive, and then open "My computer", find the blank CD and drag files onto the CD. This is a great, simple, and cheap way to save all of your files and I try to do it once every few months. Let me know if you have more questions!

I all of sudden met a software the different day stated as IamBigBrother. you install it on a working laptop or pc and it gets thoroughly hidden. you could then watch what's happening on the pc because it happens (alongside with what archives human beings get entry to) possibly that's what you're searching for.. extra desirable than a keylogger.
