Sounds like this is more of a business question.
Re-examine your interaction with your clients. Be sure you are really connecting with them as people when you talk with them.
Make sure you are clear on what they expect of you. Be direct and open about what you expect of them.
Be specific when you schedule a date/time when there is an expected meeting or photo shoot.
Re-confirm the date/time. Write it down in your scheduler, with them present, then repeat the day, date and time.
If its over the phone then say something like: "Okay, to make sure I have this right: "We are meeting on Sunday, August 13 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Correct?"
After they agree to the date/time, then tell them you will call a day or two before to re-confirm. Then make sure you do! Sometimes people simply forget.
Make sure they have your phone number and ask them to call you if there is any problem with their scheduling. People do have busy lives these days, and sometimes it is necessary to reschedule.
Engage with them as people, not objects from whom you are trying to make money.
Respect your clients.
And when you do show up, make sure you have all of the equimpent you need to do the work, and extra film and or memory cards.
If you do all of the above (or your own personal variation of all of the above) you will be successful in whatever you try to do. Plus, all of your clients will feel comfortable about recommending you, because of your professionalism.

Yeah, you should take a look at how you are approaching your models/customers, etc. Maybe they are getting bad vibes from you.
Be sure to act professionally and not make people feel uncomfortable. Do not pressure them either.
It must have something to do with your approach.
