You've got to COMMIT to play the dog whistle, man. Put the whistle back in the dog's mouth, then lift it's tail and blow into its bowel. You get different notes by putting your fingers in the dog's nose...y'know, like bagpipes. Guaranteee the dog won't choke on it again, but by the time you can play "Happy Birthday" you might be arrested on animal cruelty charges.

It would be very difficult for me to elaborate on the hearing ability of a"dog"compared to a human (the inevitable BUT),if you care for your dog,I suggest that you join some form of dog club,I did this,as sceptical as you, only to be utterley amazed at their abilities, unemcumbered as they are with all the human complications.Do not for 1 minute assume that you are superior to your dog as regards the sense of smell, the ability of hearing,if you care in the least for your "friend",research, and for Gods sake allow the animal to interact with others of its kind while going through training, with you!You will be incredibly impressed and appreciative with a little effort.I inadvertently trained Rottweilleirs for 3 years,(ex-wifes dog),and I will never forget their supreme abilities,I adore dog's now.I'm a rough and tackle South African with 10 years of military training but,I would crumble in comparison to the achievements of my "friend",who sadly,is now no more.Use your mind, and make a best friend!

I bought a dog whistle but it didn't work it actually whistled. Your not supposed to hear it. It is supposed to get their attention. :) All I've had to do to get my dogs attention is give them a treat and love and they pay attention. Catch them out of their playful stage. They pay more attention that way tehehe.

How historical are you? If you're younger, your hearing is going to e significantly better than an adults so while you mother or dad won't hear it your ears should be touchy to that frequency.

Make sure you tie it on a ribbon attached to it's collar, so when it falls out your dog won't loose it, also if it's hard to here for you then your better off not straying too far from your dog then you can hear his bark, when he wants you.

Why would the dog want a crappy whistle? Maybe he's telling you in his special way that he wants a harmonica.
