put lemon on the fish after you fry the fish and just before you eat the fish,

The reason why you do not taste the lemon juice is because it reacts with the fish's juices. Fish "blood" (for lack of a better word) is basic. Lemon juice is acidic. The two react and simply cancel each other out. That is the reason why fish and lemon go together, to get rid of that fishy taste.

If you want to taste lemon, grate a small amount of the rind into fish batter (the yellow, not the pith (white).

Also, when you cook fish, open a bottle of lemon juice so you don't get a fish odor.

The lemon is more to give the fish a fresher taste. You could try grating a small amount of the lemon rind and add that if you want more of a lemon taste.

Because the fish is fried. Try piercing the fish and squeezing the juice on the inside of the fish.

Squeeze lemon on it before you fry it. Use lemon juice as marinade for fish.

Try using Malt Vinegar. I love it on my fish, I think it gives a better flavor than lemon, but it is quite similiar. It's not like regular vinegar. I bet you'll like it.
