Its not always at someone else expense, some people let us have laughter for free, children and the things they say are so innocent how can that be at the expense of anyone.

We laugh at things that makes us uncomfortable. It explains why some people may find different things humorous. It can help you cope with problems --- situational, soceital, and yourself.

It can provide insight into possible solutions. Being able to laugh at something that makes us uncomfortable and creates stress for us provides a chance to see that the problem is not so intimidating or hopeless; and may be manageable. Making light of something reduces the peception it's a personal threat to our life, esteem, property...you get the picture. Laugh it up! :)

People laugh at others for the same reason they slow down on the interstate to see an accident. They are entertained by others tragety. Sad but true. Look at all the drama on TV.

Laugh loud and laugh often when its truly funny.

Uh? If you do laugh at someone's expense, then beware you'll earn some hurt feelings, its never free. . . ever heard of karma?. . . Laughter just for the pure fun of it, spontaneous one, makes life easier to handle. . . and will earn you lots of friends. Laughing at someone is sarcasm. . . which makes one jaded for life and makes his life a misery.

Thats a witty observation,,, a man who can take having the micky taken out on him is usually the sort of guy you can like.. Look at the Irish,, they tell the best Irish jokes and dont think of them as racist.

Laughing at others expense cannot be good for the body or soul coz it breeds hurt and hatred, spreads bad feelings. Thenn its no more free, it has a big cost, ie. others hurt!
