Did your school paddle? were you ever paddled? if you had a choice between suspension and paddling which did you choose?

I was paddled in school as a child in the 80's in Florida. It was awful and we never had a choice. My teacher paddled us for very minor infractions such as failing to make a perfect score on multiplication tests.

Yup, paddling was still acceptable up until I was in HS. (But when to HS in a different state). I was paddled, but there was no choice in the matter.
Frankly, I'm glad it is gone, some teachers were simply abusive.

Went to school in the south, and got paddled when I went to a school up north, in MT.. for spitballs..
this was in the 60's though, when we were a bit more serious about being civilized.

But, no, none of my schools have paddled since I have been there.
