Someone we know racked up 23 overdraft charges at 32$ a pop on their debit card plus the actual charges themselves, claiming to us they didnt know would be charged then turning around and claiming to the bank the card was stolen. what do you think will happen???

banks gonna forget about it and charge the rest of us more making it easy on them??

banks gonna do a little work (god forbid) , involve the police and check security cameras at the places where the card was used and prosecute??

Wow, you sound a little jaded there, my friend! The bank will NOT forget about it and you have a civic duty to tell what you know. How is that for doing a little work? I know, you hate this answer, but the work in this country goes on by the little people, not the big banks.

I imgine that if he racked up 23 charges that he probably did a lot of them where he lives and to places that he frequents normally so it is a fairly easy matter for the police to follow up and they do go after credit card fraud.

Who would know, what's going to happen, except the parties involved? As far as "us" getting charged more money in lieu of fraudulent transactions... banks are not insurance companies. They don't have a premium to raise.

I would say they could be in for a world of trouble. First off, most places use cameras, sometimes hidden, to record the actual transaction. Wouldn't want to be them.
