why bother spending your whole life being scared? Trust me, there's nothing waiting for you at the other end. Enjoy yourselves, if you still believe, you can repent on your deathbed. I won't be.

When I was younger my family was religious and dragged me into that nonsense and I wasn't a very happy person. After I became atheist, I felt much happy and even comfortable with myself without the fear of going to hell if I don't obey a god that hasn't proved it's existence.

The God of the old testament is portrayed as a fierce God. But those were terrible violent times and that was how He had to be. Jesus came to show us the nature that God wanted to be able to portray to the world. The nature that God COULD have in a world without all the violence and chaos.

That is the message that so many people miss.

God is willing that all should be saved.

If you have been to a church where the message was one of scaring the daylights out its members, I feel bad for you. My church has the message of Gods' redemption, of a time when there will be NO MORE sickness, death, and suffering. That is the God I know.

Please do not think you can live a self centered life refusing to do any good for God and make a deathbed conversion. I doubt God would accept such a selfish attitude and even so, you may get snuffed suddenly and not have the chance for your last minute confession.

Forget the HELLFIRE fear. Think of missing out on a chance to live in a world of peace. A place where you don't have to worry about being mugged for a couple bucks. You don't have to worry about getting some horrible illness and suffering a slow painful death. A place where children can play safely with no fear. You would be missing out on that and that would/will be sad.

The problem with people like you is that there are many church communities where the devil has an iron grip and people take Christianity and make from it some form of politics and propaganda, in order to keep their leaders in power and the people in line (through fear). This has happened throughout history (eg. look at the Roman Catholic church). So you grow up with this background, thinking that this must be Christianity, which is exactly the opposite. Christianity is about freedom, love and never-ending joy. It's about a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, not about some organisation. Miracles happen and the Holy Spirit changes peoples' hearts supernaturally. There is pure love, zeal and no masks. Read the book called Acts about the early Christian church. Of course Christians are not perfect and they don't claim to be (or shouldn't). This is how it should be. I am sorry that you are in this state of mind. I pray that you get out of it and see things for how they really are. God loves you!

My God is both loving and vengeful. And if you aren't willing to repent now, then I'm afraid there is NO hope for you on the other end. Calling God a myth is like saying that there's no conflict in the Mid East. You may deny it, but that doesn't mean it's not there. I fear for your soul, young man.

There is no need to fear God as long as you are not breaking his laws. However, the Bible does say he is a vengeful and jealous God. Lastly, if you go through life knowing but ignoring God's commands while planning on half-assing an apology when your at the end of your time and you are too afraid to go to hell, I really don't think that counts as an apology for all your sins. GOD IS NOT STUPID.

No offence, but trust you? Have you been to the brink and back again? How do you know God = myth?
Strange language you use, "have fun now, repent later"
I believe in God, God is Love (tenderness, forgiveness compassion) I can have and do have fun now. I have no intention of disrespecting your non-belief, have a good life and enjoy it as I intend to with mine.

the problem is, not whether god is loving or not, because he surely is, the problem is that religions teach the wrong about god. they exclaim how god burn wicked ones in a torturous hell for eternity and this makes people feel scared and turned off by religion, they feel they are alot happier without that over their shoulders. truth be told their is no punishment for the wicked, they just die, like many people think they do anyway, so that's no problem, but the righteous ones are promised a Resurrection to a beautiful paradise earth with all their loved ones and friends again. see its the misconception of a hell that makes people think god is cruel, and unworthy of worship. in fact, its a horrible thing to even think god would be so cruel and heartless as to do that!.

That old testament God was a crank. I think he mellowed with age. Sort of like my grandfather did. My grandfather was a right old bastard to his kids, but to the grandkids was the greatest guy ever.

That's my view of God. I think s/he's willing to give you benefit of the doubt. Live a good life, be kind to others, do no harm in this life, and I think you're in. Most of your mistakes are all just lessons, after all. Learn from them, move on, don't repeat the same crap again, & you're good to go.

LOVING, LOVING, LOVING otherwise Why would he put up with
all the mess that goes on . He gives everyone chances after chances. Remember, Please remember sometimes you don't have that last chance to repent before you die.You leave here unable to
communicate. Even with the Father. Alfa and Omega IT 's better
to believe in a myth than to find out later that you were wrong along. Think ABOUT IT!!
