A sunbed produces as much Vitamin D as the sun. Vitamin D is good for skin, hair & generally how a person is feeling. So really a sunbed would help your skin but not clear up eczema. But don't spend too long on a sunbed because you could burn & that would not help at all!!!!

The sun might help but instead of a sunbed just go out into the sun. Unless it is on your body in that case try a sunbed but don't get burned. You can also try calamine lotion at night and see if that will help. Really though the best idea is go to a dermotologist. You can get something that will really help to clear up your skin. If you do this be sure to check out the side effects of any medication before you spend your money for it.

laying on a sunbed will NOT clear up your complaint.moreso it will probably enhance it.you will be drying out your skin wheras you need to keep it moist.my daughter in law suffered from very severe eczema and after many years of creams and ointments she finally went to a chinese herbalist.the potion she got was expensive and stunk horrid but she stuck with it and she is now clear of it and has been for a few years.i was sceptical about this treatment but it certainly has done the trick.try it you have nothing to lose.

Traditionally, eczema nad psoriasis have responded to ultra violet radiation treatments offering some people benifits and others none. The tanning bed may cause some localized irritation of your eczema. Do some more research and figure out if the risk factors associated with tanning beds is worth attempting this treatment and discuss it with your physician.

Don't do it!! You need to treat eczematic skin very carefully and I personally wouldn't run the risk. I know that some doctors advise (natural) sunshine to help clear up your skin but other doctors advise against it. Besides, going on a sunbed is never good for your skin longterm is it?

I've never heard of that actually.

Take oatmeal baths (there is an oatmeal bath designed just for this in the skincare section of most stores).

Find an ointment that helps you to avoid the really bad itching.

Then, whenever you get an urge to itch, quickly do something else. Even if it's just getting up and going to the bathroom, or cleaning your hands, or doing some cooking, or anything that quickly gets your hands busy and keeps your mind away from it.

Love as always,

Sebastian

Eczema is dry skin patches and sunbeds will tend to dry your skin out more. I think it would make your eczema worse.

See your specialist, my son has very severe excema(99% of his body) and he got specialist light treatment from hospital. I enquired about a sunbed to see if that would help him and was told under no circumstances use one.

no, tanning beds do not clear up eczema, nor psoriasis, nor acne. Tanning beds lead to damaged skin and later in life skin cancer. You need to consult a dermatologist.
