First of all, hopefully you are a responsible owner who doesn't plan to fight the dog or train it to be vicious or use it to pump up any macho/insecurity issues you may have.

Walk it; play with it.

Ear clipping? Why? So it can look vicious?

Be a responsible and loving dog owner. Pits get a bad rap because of their owners.

I am not assuming anything negative about you. Just stressing certain things which may or may not apply in your case.

First of all 13 weeks is the latest I would get them clipped. Most vets won't do them after that anyways.

Alot of times to get a pit bulked up you will see people let them drag around a tire for instance... However I have raised pits for the past 7 years and know that the best way to get them in shape is to walk them. Feed them a diet with lots of protiens. Hopefully you are wanting your pit to be in shape for health reasons and not for fighting. Pit bulls are the most loving dogs until they are put into the hands of someone who thinks of them as a sport. I'm not saying you are, but there are a lot of people in this world that do.

When my stud has bred a lot I will usually put him on a sort of horse supplement(powdered) to keep his energy level up and to make sure he is getting everything that he needs in his diet. Please just be careful not to over do it. Pits will go forever for thier owner without thinking about themselves...please just do the same for your dog.
