Hi, had same problem with our puppies last year. The vet recommended Adams Flea and Tick Mist. We also gave them baths at that age and it didn't hurt them abit. Good luck. :0)
Pups should have shots before they are six weeks old. You can worm then by then also.

They should be wormed starting at 2-3 weeks. 2,3,4,6,8,10 weeks is a good worming program. You are going to have a problem with tapeworms hovever, since they were crawling with fleas. That probably will not be seen for another 2-3 weeks.
What you should do is get some Advantage for them and treat them and the mother and all other furry pets in the house. I have used Advantage on kittens as young as 2 weeks at the cat shelter. Sometimes there is no choice sine the fleas can kill them. The puppies may need a vitamin supplement also, since that many fleas HAD to have depleted the blood volume. These cannot be really healthy puppies.
Next time, before breeding, take care of these things or have a plan in mind. It is sad that there are puppies out there being bred for money and they have to suffer with fleas that bad!! If they were crawling in the eyes, that was a bad infestation and the mom had fleas prior to giving birth.

I think you did the right thing about the flea spray, just a little, you can also give them a bath and that will help ,when you spray them just watch the puppies to make sure they are okay. Are the puppies in side or out? You can also spray where they are sleeping and put something down like some type of chips. you can worm the puppies now and when you take them to the vet he will worm them again. Have lots of fun with the puppies. OH I use ADAM'S flea spray and it works

You should not ask if flea spray will hurt them at the age they are if you've already taken it upon yourself and used it on them. That makes no sense. You obviously weren't concerened if it would hurt them.
Treating the mother dog will start a cycle of killing the fleas and eventually the pups will not have any either.
As for worming, all pups are born with roundworms, which they inherit from their mother while they're still in the womb or through her milk .It is important to realize that each time a puppy is wormed, it only kills a certain amount of the worms so all puppies need to be wormed at regular intervals from 2 weeks of age until they are 6 months old.

I have 4 week old pups (8 of them) & just asked the vet about them yesterday. Take Adams Flea, spray on a rag, & wrap it around them for a little bit. Do not get in or near their eyes. I did this yesterday. Don't think I used enough. Am going to do it again. But it has helped. According to my vet, they are too young to put Advantage, Frontline, etc. on them.
I just gave them their worm med. The vet sent it home with me & I gave it to them. They took it really easy out of a medicine syringe. Have to give it to them again in 2 weeks. Oh, they do get diarhea a little after you give it to them.
They get their first shots at 6 weeks. Hope this helps!! They are precious at this age!!

Take them to the vet for flea bathing and also hire an exterminator. Then each month use Frontline for dogs. Make sure you use the proper strength for their weight or it could make them very sick and possibly kill them if it is too strong. You will never get rid of them on your own safely so call the exterminator today. They will probably have to come to your home 3 times but usually have a guarantee. Poor puppies. Good Luck!

Don't use flea spray on these puppies. Where are the fleas coming from? Are the pups in your house? You could try flea collars [not really good, but better than spray] but the best thing is to deflea the area you're keeping them in, as well as their beds.

look on the boxes or bottles in the pet dept, it will state on there what age you can put the flea powder on. the de-wormer will state the same. ask someone working at the store, they should be able to help you. i have found that pet smart is the best for asking questions. but, wal-mart has the cheaper prices.
