My cat just gave birth to 4 beautiful black and gray kittens last night. Today i found some blood on a towel that my cat was sitting on. She was also bleeding a lot when she was having the kittens. I was reading a website on Cat Pregnancy and it said that cats dont bleed when they have kittens. I dont know if the bleeding is normal or not.

Thank you!

I've had cats who had kittens, and dogs who've had pups, but I honestly can't remember any bleeding. But I would have to assume that there would be some as the babies are all connected to mom just as humans, and the placenta would cause bleeding after the babies are born. But if it's unusually heavy, you might check with a vet. They will tell you over the phone if it's normal.

Cats do bleed during labor.

Unless it was insane amounts (more than a few small spots), you shouldn't worry that much. Just keep an eye on her and give your vet a call if she is still bleeding later tonight or in the morning.

No, not commonplace. The kitten may be too tremendous to head by the outlet or is stuck because of the cord wrapped round it. The kitten received't be alive, causing an infection. the mummy cat will die if not dealt with by technique of a vet. Please get her is ASAP, She could not be bleeding and the kitten could were born before this.

The bleeding is normal. It's cause the blood gushes out when the kittens come out.
