Okay let me make it easy, I don't want to pick and choose what can or can't be said here or anywhere. my only thought on this mader is this... there is a time and place for everything, why must every sorce be an outlet for stupidity?

i agree. unfortunately, the only thing u can do is report the morons and sickos who post stupid and/or offensive questions and answers. the time it takes to read them and then report them is wasted. there are some interesting, legitimate questions mixed in with a bunch of dribble. that's just too bad that ppl would rather show how ignorant they are rather than how smart they are.

This is site is for people to share ideas. Who decides if they're not intelligent enough for your sensibilities? Do you only read the New York Times or do you sometimes sink to reading the comics? Lighten up. Answer questions you're interested in and ignore the rest. Treat the site as if it were a great big party. Some of the attendees may not be people you'd invite into your own home, but that doesn't mean you have to knock out, hog-tie and gag the ones who don't meet your strict rules of decorum. You just ignore them and hang with your own kind. Sure, that would probably get boring after a while, you might want to check out what's going on with the guy wearing the lamp shade, but that's your choice. Just don't try to force others into your particular mode, because it's not YOUR party.

While I agree with you, I also see the point in Carol's argument. Freedom of expression is not a freedom unless it is the same freedom for all of us. While I may not like the questions/answers/points-of-view of many participants, I will defend their right to express their ideas.

Actually, that is in the rules. Unfortunately enforcement is extremely difficult.

I do. But, you can't control the ignorant and smart mouths who have nothing else to do, but give stupid and pointless comments.
