I don't think it's possible to be friends right after a breakup. It takes time. Why don't you tell her how you feel? She will most likely understand.

But from past experience, it's possible to be good friends with an ex, after many many years (I'm talking about 10 years).

Good luck!

Yeah right!!!! If she knows that u love her and that u are devastated by you breaking up she only wants you to be around and feel safe when at the same time she is hanging around with other guys... You going to work as "The Base". Tell her that in order to reach the point of friendship she has to decide what she really wants. The whole thing has to do with her feeling completely insecure. You can say "hello" to each other but be friends???? Like sharing your secrets and let her telling you about other guys???? No way..... Go on with your life!! You never know what is expecting you in the next corner!!!! Good luck

Okay, my sister has been through this with her ex-fiance, only SHE was the one who wanted to be friends - if I give it to you from my sister's point of view then it may help you to realise how your ex is feeling.

My sister split up with her fiance, because she felt they were more like friends that partners. But now, because her ex-fiance is so mad at her (which is totally understandable) she can't be friends with him.

Perhaps, your ex girlfriend only split up with you because she felt as though you were more like friends rather than partners, I don't know, I don't completely know the situation. It's just something to think about if it has relevance.

Nevertheless, YOU'RE IN CONTROL, and if you don't want to be friends with her, then you don't have to be, because, at the end of the day, she's put you through hell, and I'm sure she has other friends.

If you're positive you don't want to be friends with her, and want to tell her that, then the only thing I can suggest is don't be harsh about it. Not because it's 'unfair on her' cause screwing around with another guy is harsh, but because you don't want to end up arguing with her for months on end!

Just tell it to her straight. Tell her your really p****d off with her and you can't forgive her for what she did. Then, if she doesn't listen, you should take further action and maybe be cruel to be kind. You'll probably need to hammer it in to her head by shouting a little, or being firm and strict, but whatever you do DON'T feel bad about it. And don't let her sob stories win you over.

I really hope it works out, and I hope you find a new girl. It's possible to stay friends with an ex if you really want to, but it was still unfogivable what she did to you.

Good luck mate ;-)

Just tell her you're not interested and that you already have enough friends. Don't accept her calls after that.

Tell her that she hurt your feelings when she broke up with you and best friends don't hurt their best friend's feelings. Then quit talking to her.
