It's hard. Very hard.
The best way is to keep in mind that we are all connected by the same source energy. To recognize that we all originate from one source creator and that in turn we are all connected, all one. Separation is an illusion of our physical existence.
It also helps to understand that no one really thinks that they do things that are wrong. They can usually justify their actions and words, if only to themselves.
You don't have to allow the beliefs, opinions or actions of others to control your feelings.
I'm not saying it's easy, but it becomes easier if you keep this in mind.

It's a wonderful concept, simple, profound, elegant and a teensy bit unrealistic..
As much as they say they do this, i think what most do is try. I know I did but if I know someone truly hates me, the last thing I'm feeling is love. The first thing I would try to do is rectify it by discussion, but if there's no success there I don't think I'm going to be feeling love. I may not hate them back and I'll learn to tolerate them and they're hatred of me as long as I feel no actual danger to me.... but no love
Isn't part of love being able to trust that person? Do you trust your enemies? If you love your enemy, will you turn your back on him if you know his goal in life is to exterminate you?
Some good evaluations of this concept might be with a guy like Osama bin Laden. Do Christians really love him? Does a woman really love the five guys that just gang-banged her? Does the girls father love those guys? Or the husband? Or the kids?
I try to be the best person I can be but I don't find myself loving my enemies. I don't find it necessary to be a good person, I find it to be a very dangerous concept.

Think about it, those who hate want you to return the favor and if you don't return the favor and rather treat them with love and care don't you defeat hate? There are those who will say what Jesus teaches is impossible, but they are deluded into thinking that Satan controls every aspect of life and even took the Messiah as a sacrifice. The internet was not created by Satan, he wants people ignorant, not questioning, not seeking answers.

i recommend studying buddhism it gives u a great appreciation of all human emotions including hate and anger. once we understand something we can learn to let go of all negativity. Sometimes just knowing people that hate you are very dear to someone else decreases negative feeling. I was treated quite badly by my step-father and hated him for along time but as i studied buddhism it taught me to find one positive thing about the figure of hate and that is my sister! who i love very much! i realised it was necessary to have had him in my life otherwise i would not have her!

First, you need to understand who you are. Next, don't take anything personally. People do and say things because of what they think, not because of who you actually are. Also understand that you are not what others think of you. You are what you know you are. When you understand who you are and how wonderful all of us are, then you can love everyone regardless of how they feel about you. You can do it.

It is hard but the Bible says, "Love them that hate you, bless them that curse you and pray for them which despitefully use you."
Obviously, if God tells us to do something, He must make some provision for us to do it, so it's possible.

It is not possible for us to do so on our own. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit.

If you make an attempt understand them, and can comprehend what makes them feel the way they do, you can find a way to feel compassion. Even to find common ground between you, and seek compromises, in hopes of one day dispelling their hatred.

You don't have to like them or what they stand for but, love is a very powerful tool to make friends of your enemies.
