You didn't say Tootsie roll...
A lolly-pop has 637 licks to it.

That depends on the person, I'm going to devide them up into 3 catagories,
1: The exited/unexited people who either wanted to eat the lollypop right away or who wanted to get the experiment over with.
2: The serious lickers, they calculated every lick they made on the tootsie pop
3: The candy lovers who love to savor the taste, they took longer.
Group 1 got 75-100 licks. Group 2 got 125-150 licks. Group 3 got 175-200 licks. The average is 142 licks until you reach the center of a tootsie roll pop.

The old commercial about Tootsie pops had an owl (I think) taking 3 licks and then biting into the pop. So the answer, if you're indeed referring to the old, old commercial, is 3.
Peace

"Lollipop?" I think I've never made it past 20; but you need to hold it in your mouth a while to get it ready to bite into; otherwise it feels like biting in would break a tooth.
