Annie is 18 months old, has three dog beds, does not lay on rough floors, no licking of the elbows. Noticed the redness about 3 weeks ago. Started applying Neosporin. I read the answers to "Hot Spots" and this does not seem like that. Any ideas? or Is this normal?

If the areas are on both elbows, hairless, and kind of rough, it sounds like normal callous. Big dogs get them no matter what type of bedding they sleep on. If they get puffy or seem to ooze anything, it could be an infection. Your vet can tell you for sure what they are. :)

sounds like it could be the start of callous'. just watch the spots and keep putting on the neosporin.

Sounds like callous to me. Don't worry most dogs have them. I have a bassett hound and he has big ones. Maybe it's because he has giant elbows and knees!!

Those will appear even if your dog sleeps on a bed of clouds.
