Well, do you want to give mono to other people? If not, then it makes sense to find out when you're no longer going to be infectious. Besides, your make out partner's probably not going to be happy getting mono from you.
Ask the nurse when you can start kissing people again. She would know for sure, whereas your friend probably doesn't know for certain.

I don't know about all that, but I have read that once you have mono, you can periodically become contagious again for the rest of your life. I also something like 95% of Americans have had mono by the time they turn 30, and most of them don't have any symptoms. I don't remember where I read all of this, but do a search on infectious mononucleosis or Epstein Barr and you'll get a bunch of hits. I have mono now, too, so I've been reading up on it.

Mononucleosis is also known as "Kissing Disease". So you cannot "make out" as you can spread the virus!! All you need is to have plenty of rest but you can make out with your "Teddy Bear" only, if you feel lonely!!
