Can anyone explain the theory that a cat has 3 tails?

One cat has 1 tail more than no cat. Since no cat has 2 tails, one cat must have 3 tails!

Never heard the theory that a cat has 3 tails, though I have heard about the cat-o'-nine tails.... which was used to flog the crews of the early sailing ships of the navy. Many died of their injuries as the cat-o-nine tails was made of plaited leather with knots at the end of each one of the tails (similar to a leather whip) as the many wounds inflicted became infected very quickly because of the lack of a proper diet.

It means that u r always close to death but it dosent. They say that a cat has 9 lives in its tail. But if it had 3 then you would have 27. Which is y u wont die untill the 27th close death. (Be careful if u r on 26!)
