Why are they called stairs inside but steps outside? duuh you guys are nerds...

That came about in Colonial times.

Outside "Steps" were not taxed.

In order to distinguish taxable "Stairs" in side homes.

you also forgot if you are Italian thay consider outside steps to be sitting on the front stoop....lol
