OKay this is what i would do.
Call 1-800-Dentist and go to sleep for right now. Drink a lot of water. If its really really really big pain go to emgency room and ask for a open dentist. Search the web right now. But i would really cancel dentist tommorrow and get help today or it will be worse. And dont take medecine unless dentists said. MEdecine will give headache and it will be worse by tomorrow

Get some oil of cloves ,put a few drops on a very small cotton ball and press into cavity ,relief will be almost immediate . If you can get some Zinc oxide powder (also at the pharmacy) ,mix a little of it with the eugenol (oil of cloves ) until it forms a paste and try and force some into the cavity ,smooth over with tip of finger and it will set in a minute or so making a temporary filling .

There is not much you can do for the pain if you cant get out to go to the store to get a temporary filling material. Advil or if you have any prescription pain medication will be best. Be preparred for the dentist to tell you that you will either need a crown, root canal or extraction. If it is really hurting one of these is probably going to be the treatment.

The above advice is pretty good. One other handy temporary filling you can do yourself is to light a candle, get some of the softened wax & use it to patch the hole until you can get in to see the dentist. It helps to dry your tooth as much as possible first to help the wax stick to the tooth. If you've got a buddy with braces, they may have some soft wax their orthodontist gave them - that's even easier.

Go ASAP to drug store and buy oil of clove (in dental section). Oil the hole where filling used to be, sit back and feel the pain recede. If can't get to drugstore, fill the hole with vaseline to prevent additional irritation of the exposed area. Analgesics will help control the pain from the initial irritation.

I have on rare occasion had patients come in with a tiny piece of cotton stuck in their tooth, just to keep air and saliva from getting down in there. It seems to help somewhat...
Try one of the meds that the others have mentioned.

well in a pinch, hold one ounce of vodka, or any hard liquor really in the area of the tooth, will numb it and serve to limit bacterial growth. Wouldn't do too much tho, as the alcohol can burn the gums.
