Oh yes, please remember to state your age somewhere. It's important for demographic data to illustrate sentiment from young to mature individuals. Thanks very much for your input!

I guess I support their right to exist as an organization like a neigborhood watch. They certainly aren't doing anything illegal (I've not heard any reports of them shooting anyone). However, I personally think they're overemphasizing the armed and ready nature of their operations, and it makes them sound like a bunch of vigilantes, even if they really aren't.
So I support their legal rights, I just think they're gauche.

I'm 51 and still remember when America stood up for it's citizens.
I am for the Minutemen. If the Govt will not protect it's citizens, and it's borders, I'm thankful someone is there. Much like the militiamen during the Revolutionary Wars, don't you think? Of course, it is just a matter of time before Bush, (unconstitutionally) puts a stop to it.
Illegals drive down wages. It's good for the economy? Ha! It's good for rich corporations that would like to see wages down to rock bottom. More profits for them. Of course, this is a majority of Conservatives.
Liberals, on the other hand, like their votes. They will do anything, regardless of what Americans want, to make amnesty a reality, by making amnesty reality, they are likely to gain their vote.
The problem is, Americans are fed up with losing jobs & wages to illegals, not to mention our tax dollars to the many freebies that the illegals consume--such as free schooling, Medicaid, food stamps, & other medical assistance, all complimentary from the US citizens local, state & Federal taxes.
That is why, it's time to get people out to vote. I advocate that, most of all. A big problem is that many illegals will also vote. Not legally, but with political support from our elected officials, although they would never say so.
I suspect the new voting machines will have some sway into our elected officials staying in office. It has already been proven, here in Iowa, that they need only be programmed incorrectly. Voter fraud will be even more prevelant in the next elections. There is a lot at stake here.

I oppose the minutemen. It sounds to me like an excuse to beat up on immigrants or at least that is what it may become. They should let the boarder patrol and national guardsmens handle things. I think it would just make more problems (violence) then keep people from crossing the boarder illegally.
I am on the side of the illegal immgrants who are currently in the US illegally.
I feel that the only way to solve part of this issue is to make those legal who have except for being here illegally have been law abiding citizens and have been paying their taxes. There is no way possible to find every illegal immigrant living here in the US and send them back to their home countries. It would take too many people and cost way too much money.
As for trying to keep more people crossing the boarder, I like the idea many agricultural people have been trying to get across to the government. You could plant enough nasty plant life in the space between the boarder that no-one would want to try and cross it!

I know who they are and what they do! They blow whistles and point! Only a very smart person would portray them as vigilantes to try and discredit something that is an effective weapon against the Aztlan agenda of these people! This is an invasion sugar coated by" poor little hard working immigrants" that RAN past federal officers, committing a Federal offense as they did and then mooch off the system that Tax paying people like me finance! If I could afford to take off for a week to join them I would be right there! The minuet men represent the American people, and if the invaders don't like them too bad! The Americans that don't like them need to leave before they get a boot in their A$$! 38

I am 47 years old and on the front lines of the fight against illegal immigration in Los Angeles, CA.
The minutemen are doing the job that Bush refuses to do. I know many of them personally, including Jim Gilchrist. They are fiercely patriotic and have taken on the work that the American government will not do, that is to protect the American people. The minutemen only perform survelliance activities on the border, they do not interfere with those who are crossing the border illegally, but simply notify Border Patrol when illegals are spotted. They have distributed water many times to illegals who have crossed desert because they are compassionate and humane people, not the racist vigilantes that they are portrayed to be in the media, which is the height of irony to those of us who happen to know many Black and Hispanic Minutemen.
This is the Minuteman Code and the Standard Operating Procedure for Minuteman Project.
1. Minutemen are courteous to everyone with whom they come into contact, and never discriminate against anyone for any reason.
2. Minutemen do not respond to any taunts or harassment from outside agitators, and must never be present for duty or serve in any capacity if intoxicated.
3. Minutemen Observe, Report and Direct Border Patrol or other appropriate emergency or law enforcement agencies to suspected Illegal Aliens or Illegal Activities.
4. Minutemen do not verbally contact, physically gesture to or have any form of communications with suspected Illegal Aliens.
5. Minutemen follow the Standard Operating Procedures to the letter and spirit.
6. Minutemen follow all federal, state and local laws, understanding that we are being held to a higher standard by all.
7. Minutemen understand that, while our actions cannot stop illegal activities along the border, we can change world perception and national thought concerning Homeland and Border Security.
8. Minutemen monitor their behavior, the behavior of the people around them and the group as a whole to ensure compliance with the SOP and any instruction given by Minuteman Corps Leadership.
9. Minutemen leave no garbage behind and follow strict pack-in / pack-out procedures.
10. Minutemen respect the property rights of everyone, start no fires, never drive off road, and follow the directions of all law enforcement personnel.
Vigilantes? Hardly. However, that's what Bush and the rest of his pro-illegal, anti-American middle class followers would like you to believe. It makes you American Sheeple much easier to manipulate.

I'm 29. I support Minutemen. The government cant or won't stop the flood of illegals so the minutemen are doing what they can to help. They carry guns legally for self defense. They have never harmed anyone. They don't even apprehend the illegals they just call the Border Patrol and report their location.

Oppose them.Their intentions seem to be good, you know watching the border and all that, but isn't that what the border patrol is paid to do and has been doing for years? And not to mention what they are trained to do.I think that its going to be a matter of time before they run into some drug smugglers who don't think they are "la migra" and decide to shoot at them or something and someone ends up hurt or worse. And since they seem to be all about laws don't we have laws that prevent groups like the minutemen from doing what they do?I mean if they are allowed to do what they want then how come we don't have a group that goes to the white house and just takes over?Afterall their motto could be "we are just doing what the president and congress refuse to do".Remember its all about laws and you can't just pick to break the laws that you think shouldn't apply to you because then you would become what you most oppose.........and illegal.

I love the minute men and they are fixing their own country! I lived in Arizona for 23 years and the border towns are a disgusting cesspool. the largest percentage of crime there is committed by illegals. Why should they care about committing crimes they are already committing them by being here. Not to mention they can run right back ac crossed the border any time they want for protection. The Mexican government won't turn them out. Those short oversexed foul mouth stinking Mexicans need to go back an pollute their own country and leave this one alone. I only wish it was legal for the minute men to shoot the bastards on site! (there was that flaming enough?)

Completely support them. They are standing up for the rest of America. They are doing something that the government can't or is not willing to do. And they are not just talking or marching or raising money but actually trying to fix the problem. These brave men and women embody everything that is great about being an American.

Support. I don't support all of the MM 'like' groups. I know the MM got rid of some that had a hate agenda, which I don't support.
I think Bush has thrown enforcement of our laws out of the window in his desire for big business globalism and a crack at Mexico's yet untapped oil field in the Gulf. However, our children's education in border states has absolutely tanked as a result. LOOK INTO THE STATISTICS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND CHILDREN OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS in places like LAUSD. There is your real news story.
