'Is this why Christians keep the Priest or Pastor up front on stage?' I suspect the original reason was hopefully the 'priest or pastor' up front doing the talking knew more about the subject than the layperson. However, I suspect some parties have 'misused' the position, and used it for their personal gain. Not all have though; so I am not condemming all 'priest and pastors'.

I'm not sure. But if there wasn't any one up there hanging over you whom would preach to you? They need someone. Some people don't feel comfortable unless there is some kind of authority figure to tell you you're a sinner, you're going to hell, and now who's going to donate us money? Even tho' it will disappear and you'll never see where that money went to. Not that I'm deliberately ragging Christianity. After all the concept was good, it's just that the message got lost and churned up into things that it's not and never was. Some Christians have found what the original message was and have kept to it-so good for them! It's not all a lost cause.

I thought they were supposed to be the same devil no matter if you recognized it or not.

You know, that devil that doesn't exist and was invented to scare worshippers into good behavior and convince pagan religions that they were nothing but sin.
