According to information that I have read, if those feeling of sadness and worthlessness last 2 weeks or more you should see a doctor. I spent the first 26 years of my life battling depression and anti-depressants have been a godsend for me. I also make myself exercise because I've been told that it increases endorphins and helps your mood (and it works well for me!) and I try to force myself just to get out of the house. Also I see a therapist. Of course diferent things are going to work for different people, but I would suggest at least talking to a doctor. Psychatrists seem to be very difficult to appointments first, so I would suggest talking to your primary physician first. Either way, take care of yourself and good luck!

I really dont think you should go for the antidepresants.
Go out in the sun, its provent to make you happier. Gives us our essential vitamins you are lacking.
Hang out and have a good time with friends, and people who really care about you.
Dont dwell on the bad things!!
Make sure you are getting the proper amout of sleep. 7-8 hours.

Get out. Talk to your friends and family. Get a new hobby. Volunteer your time for charities. These should remove the self-centered thoughts and negativity.

See your doctor. If he/she feels you need to see a specialist, then they will send you to one. My doc. put me on Welbutrin all most 2 years ago. I'm back to being ME!

Increase your excersize, take flax/fish oil, take 5HTP 100 mg - up to 3x per day (no more). extra: take 200 mg St. Johns Wart - up to 3x per day (no more).
