Going in July 2007. We want the beach, but also fun things to do like scuba diving, cliff diving, cultural stuff, jeep off-roading, jet skiing, etc.

Cancun for a more beautiful place or PV if you are looking for a budget. Both are cool, but the water in Cancun can not be beat. The Gulf is way better for snorkeling/diving than the Pacific. Both have great Canopy Tours (zip lines) that are an absolute blast. If you go to PV, do the Canopy tour SOUTH of town. It is better and there is a great restaurant at the Canopy place that has bet BEST crawdads I ever had. They were the size of LOBSTERS!!! Got 6 for like $24....YUMMIE!!! Beaches in Cancun are better too. I have stayed at a place called Crown Paradise in both cities. They have (or had due to the Hurricane) hotels that are all inclusive with no kids allowed. Both had great food and drink. The food was NOT buffet, but real sit down restaurants where you order your meal and people bring you food! If you book it, make certain to tell them you want the hotel that does NOT allow kids, it was nice to be around the pool without any rugrats around. ENJOY!

Cancun can be an start gate to your dream holiday only like this place hotelbye so you can get there. Cancun delivers state-of-the-art hotel services one of the greatest clubs, bars, and centers only some feet far from the many lovely beaches on earth. One of many places you will need to see could be the Isla Mujeres. Here, the great breezes hit over the island each day and evening and here you will love: the snorkelling, the scuba, the swimming with dolphins, the remote beaches for moonlight guides and private discussions, and scores of waterfront restaurants surrounded by good buying and wonderful normal scenery. If you're looking for a Cancun destination spot to relax, Isla Mujeres is the spot to come.

Your best bet would be Puerto Vallarta. I go every year and always have so much fun because of all the new things to do. They have all that fun stuff in PV. Cancun is more Americanized and filled with mostly young people. PV is a diverse city with fun activities and great restaurants. For sure PV is the better choice for your honeymoon.

I would think twice in going to mexico at this time, they are having troubles out there after their presidential elections, and some are blaming the US as usual for their problems,in mexico city alone tourism is down that hotels claim they are losing over 23 million dollars a day

Sure, why not? Cancun and PV are more American than Mexican... it's like being in Miami Beach.
