I'm Asian and born in America.
When I was younger, I use to be very even in both sides. Like, for the Olympics, say, I would be really happy is the US got a gold medal and just as happy if China got a medal, etc..
But the few recent years, I'm not sure why but I am starting to like China more, but that doesn't mean I don't like the US.
It's quite hard for us, as the people over here expect one thing of us but over there, they expect differently.
They are both my home and I have learned a lot from both sides' culture. However, if the US and China were in a war (hopefully they won't be) I would still support China more than the US, no offense.
But of course, if you look at me, I still look Asian so I can never be 100% American.

I'm Asian...but not born in America, however I came there when I was 5.
I love South Korea, I'm so proud to be South Korean. I still use some Korean etiquettes and stuff at home...and I like it! However, I also like America a lot too. It's where I live! They're really open about a lot of things.
America has things maybe Korea lacks but Korea also has things that maybe America lacks. I support both countries very much. However, I can be upset with America at times for making up big, stretched lies about the whole Apollo Anton Ohno business!

I know in the Asian culture, sense of family and country is much stronger than American culture. My husband's mom is Korean. My mother in law and my husband would think it is strange to even speak about differentiating between the two in the way of loyalty. Actually after thinking for a moment, it appears like America got it's idea for a way of life from the Asians. The American dream. They are ones who are living it.

I would be loyal to America, but proud to be Asian.
As for me, I am an American, but have German roots. I am proud to be German, and have learned a bit of the language and researched that country.
That's the neat thing about America. We are all from a different ancestry, but one people---Americans!

I'm not Asian but I feel if you were born in America then you are an American-However I am all about other cultures and people being proud of their roots. That's what makes our country great-the freedom to be who we are as different as we all may be. We are "The melting pot". But we are AMERICAN

I do not see any reason why they can not split their loyalties between the two countries.
You can't really belittle the country that you have grown up in, the US is a great place to live and grow up.
You also shouldn't batter the country(ies) form which your ancestors came. Be proud of your heritage.
