On the cob doesn't lend itself to freezing. We freeze corn every year, it is great!
Husk the corn
bring water to a full boil
put corn in and wait to start boiling again
boil for about 8-10 min
pull from water and immediately put in cold water
when corn is cool
cut off cob with sharp knife
bag in zip lock and freeze.

This never fails, holds for a year.

Good Luck!

Hi, to me the best way to freeze sweet corn is on the cob, shuck the ear until there is only 1 or 2 layers left and of course the silk left on it. Then put them in a ziplock bag. They will taste the same when you pull them out of the freezer as if you had just picked them that day. That is how I do it.

I had friends who owned a farm that said leave the corn in the husk and then freeze in a brown paper bag. We did it, it was okay, but I think the best way is to cut the corn off the husk, then freeze in a freezer bag.

Go with Mamasunshine's answer. But when done this way eat the corn within a month.

I just take the husk off, put it in a zip lock bag and toss it into the freezer.
I put about 2 to 4 ears in a z-lock bag and it last me for at least one month, then I go buy some more and start all over.
I usually go thru about 12 ears per month.

Cut it off the cob, put in airtight container and just freeze it.

Edit: the cob gets mushy and gives the corn a weird taste...

Before you freeze any fresh veggie you should blanch it. To blanch, you submerge it in boiling water for one to three minutes, the color will brighten. Take it out and submerge it in an ice water bath to stop the cooking process. When it's cool, bag it up in whole ears, or cut it off the cob, your choice.
