The bible says that " Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh".

On the other hand it also says "Honor thy father and thy mother"

So on hand we're supposed to get married, dump our parents, and shut them out of our lives, and on the other hand we're supposed to honor them?

The first verse you quoted refers to the independence of the husband and wife from their parents.

The other verse states that we should honor our parents. Meaning, we should respect them. However, married couples should never allow their parents to interfere in their lives.

I didn't read into that, what you just wrote.

What Chapter and verse say: Shut them out? Dump our parents?

I believe this is called "Spiritual ignorance",my friend. don't feel alone. Several people are.

If you think that alone contradicts itself in the Bible, maybe you should read the page where it says Honor thy Father and Mother and then on the very next page tells us to stone disobedient children to death. Damn God is infallible!!!

You are supposed to leave the nest so to speak and start your own family. That is not disrespecing you parents. To honour them is to be respectful of them, and speak to them with respect and take care of them when they need help.

The contridictions come from the ignorance of those who do not have a relationship with the Lord and they think they know what the bible says, when they dont.

"Honor thy father and thy mother" means respect their decisions, and respect the fact that they probably know more than you.

How does honoring your father and mother mean that you can't get married? Does honoring your father and mother mean that you have to live with them? You're obviously wrong.

The only contradiction is in the translations. in the verse you quote ,it is telling the young man, to separate from his parents ,and start his own family., If he lives in his fathers house ,his family is still the House of his father. but when they separate into their own lodging, then they are separated from his Fathers House. and he becomes the Head of the House. it does not say Leave and no longer Honor your parents.

The Bible never contradicts itself. Many people don't understand a verse or passage so they think its contradictory. This passage tells that a mans loyalty is first to his wife after marriage and not to the parents. It doesn't tell him to 'dump' his parents. He will continue to honor his parents by loving them and helping to see to their welfare and safety.
