I agree,he shouldn't say his name in vain,I have that a lot prob with friends too. The best thing is to tell him how u feel about him saying that, and forgive him, b/c god wants us to forgive everyone.
If it gets too annoyin though, you can warn him that u won't be his friend anymore if he keeps it up. Good Luck & Best Wishes.

Dont get mad at your friend because then your engaging hatred which is why Jesus told us to love one another. I feel sensitive when people use the Lords name in Vein but I no longer get angry because then I loose the feeling of Jesus and invite the demon of anger. Its kind of a Christian trap the devil plays on us.

The devil will use things like that to make us get angry and loose our Christian outlook. Then the usual thing that comes back to us through the devil are these words" I thought you were a Christian"

I have gotten mad many times and those words are what comes back to me every time. I then realized that this is defiantly a Satanic trap.

Instead do what Jesus instructed us to do and that's pray for this person and show love. You gotta understand that your friend is being used by Satan and its not him. So when people do this to me I don't get mad at the person but rather I pray in private for God to help them and I rebuke in Jesus name the blaspheming spirit to leave that person

It really works

Fine line here. Freedom of Speech vs. Thou Shall Not take the Lords name in Vain.

When you say fight, I'm assuming you meant argue, otherwise you are the guilty party from both sides of the arguement. When I encounter people (friends that are not believers) that do unChristian-like things or blatantly sin infront of me, I keep in mind that I cannot judge them. I can forgive them and ask the Lord to forgive them. I think of Jesus just prior to being crucified and saying, "Forgive them for they know not what they do."

That is really as simple as the entire situation is. You are not a judge, nor was the sin committed against you. God and Jesus are big enough to handle an insult and seek vengence on their own.

From a social standpoint, if this person is constantly offending you or even going out of his way to offend your faith, then you really need to ask yourself why you continue to associate with him.

God Bless.

If your friend doesn't take well to directly discussing God, then lead by example instead :) Live your life well according to your own beliefs and values and pray that your friend learns from your example. Being a good disciple usually is as simple as living your own life well.

I have the same problem.I just want everyone to know Jesus like I do and it does hurt your heart. We just have to keep praying for those who dont.Using Gods name in vain is the worse thing to hear.

yes it offended you. thast normal, its not a weakness though- it is a strength... it offended the holy spirit within you and you stood up for what is right.... your friend just doesnt know. he doesnt know that what he said was very wrong. keep living with your head up and know that where you are weak, he is strong!
