Let me see if I have this right. We don't invade Saudi Arabia because of business interests. Well what if it was in the best interest of business if Americans weren't free? That would feel bad. We won't be free if you put Hillary in and she takes away the right to bear arms. Then she may want to put Christians in camps to reprogram us. The USA has never negotiated with the Saudis at a point of STRENGTH. The Saud family is under no pressure to stop human rights abuses. What happens to our relations with the Arabians when the Royal Family is history? Everyone says the American people don't have a stomach for wars in the Middle East. When the Arabian people decide they've had enough of the present Royal family and their abusive behavior, gee don't ask me to support helping the Royals out by military action. I just wonder then how the people will see America if we never tried to bring reforms to end their misery. Helping the Saud family means not allowing us to have our freedoms! No American soldier could bring his or her Bible or wear a cross. No wonder the Saudis gave money to the Clinton Foundation. They are so much alike. Do you really expect me to believe it was for "feeding the Haitians?!" How about if Saudi Arabia lets in the Syrians?! Or do they want to promote the HIJRAH by not allowing them in. I read on another site where someone commented that we can't invade Saudi Arabia because they would replace the Royals with Wahabists. The Royals are Wahabists. That is the problem!

a) Saudi nationals have invested a lot of money into the US economy. Either through sitting in American banks, stocks or via the oil supplies which the US is dependant on. It would be unwise to attack a country that keeps your economy going.

b) Saudi Arabia is in effect "pro-american" although I mean that very liberally. It is not as hostile to the US as many other Middle East nations, and in an area where many people would like to see you dead, it doesnt hurt to have a friend.

c) Although the 9/11 men were Saudi nationals, they were Al-Qaeda trained Taliban members whose dictatorship in Afghanistan would be a better target to attempt to disband. Al-Qaedas HQ in Afghanistan would be a more appropriate target. Whereas Saudi Arabia had once supplied the Taliban with equipment and aid to its people, and was one of the few countries to recognise the organisation in power, in Nov 2001 their recognition and aid stopped.

d) Saudi Arabias relations with Iraq during the first/second gulf war was called into question and it turns out that they werent too pleased with Saddam Hussein either - in laymans terms. They also had diplomatic strains with the people who didnt support the Gulf Wars, so again they're allied to the West. They donated $55 billion to the rebuilding of the region and supplied coalition troops with food, fuel, tents etc during the First Gulf War.

Saudi Arabia is performing as per the instructions of USA led Multi- National companies and in present world scenario no one except the USA think of to invade or violet the International sanctions, and therefore, there is no question of invade Saudi Arabia.

I am wondering what is the connection between Osama bin Laden, whose family was flown home after 9/11 when no other airplanes were flying, and Saudi Arabia. I had always assumed the Saudis were our friends, but I am getting a bit confused now.

Why does it matter where the terrorists were born? The four murderers who blew up London on 7/7 were all British born so should we have invaded ourselves?

Anyhow, not all the Hijackers on 9/11were Saudi, as at least one was Egyptian and one was Yemeni. The Shoe bomber who tried to blow the air France flight to the U.S up was British, and Moussawi was French.

The important thing was where they were trained and their organisation supported, hosted and based, and that was Afghanistan.

Simple really.

I think the US has a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia. You are correct that most of the terrorists came from there, but they
were trained in Afghanistan, northeastern part of Iraq and Syria,
maybe parts of Iran.

We cannot, Will not, attack Saudi Arabia.

They're our lifeline, it'd be like attacking your loan agent.

The Bush's don't just go to Saudi Arabia to get away from it all.

"The continued availability of reliable sources of oil, particularly from Saudi Arabia, remains important to the prosperity of the United States as well as to Europe and Japan. Saudi Arabia is often the leading source of imported oil for the United States, providing about 20% of total U.S. crude imports and 10% of U.S. consumption. The U.S. is Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner, and Saudi Arabia is the largest U.S. export market in the Middle East."

We have an incredibly complex relationship we've had with the Saudis for like a million years.

Do some research - in some weird way we support but dislike one another. Like a cousin you hate but will stick up for b/c they're family...
