am 26 and for last few years i have suffered with major head-aches, serious loss of memory and pure silly behaviour which has cost not only several jobs but my partner now of over 2 years. can i seek help

You should seek help start with you Doctor or PA they are the only ones that can request a test but you can pressure them into it. Your the boss over your body and the doctors need to listen to you if it would help you to know you dont have tumor or any thing going on then its worth it.

a few years back i had a headache one long long headache so longit lasted 3 months i kid u not. my mum and her mum died of a brain tumour and they still wouldnt give me a cat scan. apparently in those days they cost £500 so i dont know what they cost now. all i know is that if i had a headache for that length of time i would camp outside my a and e dept. i dont think u can request one though your doc has to and for a good reason.

Have you not seen your doctor? There are other tests that can be done before going for a CTscan, however, after assessing you they say you need one you can pay privately at a private hospital rather than NHS hospital. You would not have to wait as long.

u wld need to tlk to ur doc and have him write u a referral for a cat scan or possibly u may want to request an MRI to get a more conclusive result.

No, it has to be requested by a Dr. You can go and ask your dr for one, but can't actually request one from the department.
