You see I have a DPM which is a Doctor of Podiatirc Medicine which takes care of the feet and ankle. He is my own personal doctor and I want to become a Podiaitrst but first I want to get my medical Assisting degree and look for a Podiatrist that will train me because I don't want to go stright into Podiatry school and spend all that money and be like "Well this isn't for me" and waste about $45,500. I have got letters from colleges and the Assocation of Podiatry on to shadow a Podiatrist for a day. I want to ask my doctor but I am shy! How can I ask him without coming straight out and saying "Can I shadow you for a day"?

Next time you see him just start making small talk about how you find his job interesting and are looking into making that your field of study. Then based on what reaction you get from that go on to say that you wish to really be sure that's what you want to do and if it could be possible for you to shadow him for a day.I'm sure he will be flattered that you picked him.
