WWII Plane flying over Germany, on approaching target pilot gets ready to push the bomb release button. He hits it open fly the bay doors but the bomb doesnt drop why?

He hasn't pressed the bomb release button yet. Only the one to open the bay doors.

Because he didn't hit the bomb release button yet. By the way, I remember you-- you were one of Captain Klutz's favorite comic characters when he was a boy (Ringo Fonebone), along with Baboon Boy, Acid Face, Super Fa ggot and the Scarlet Pimple!

hmm i usually like to say something stupid but in this case what was the name of that bomber B52? no, erm flying fortress i think any way you had a pilot a tail gunner and a something elser like a bombadier or something pilot would press that button doors open and bombs armed then the bomber would look down that periscope target finder thingy bob and spot the target and tally ho! bombs away and destroy ze jermans!

The pilot was a woman and she hit the hooter button...?
no..seriously...those planes were very prone to control failures and very sensitive..he shouldn't have hit the button....
i must say...the best pilot was a woman...those planes had flickers those days...and she used to put the left flicker on and really turned left...and all the men on the ack-ack guns on the ground thought she would turn right, and they missed her every time...
