i think that if we still had worldly desires in heaven, that it would defeat the purpose of having heaven because somewhere along the line, my desires and another person's desires would clash and we would be back at square one

No one really knows, It's not a "place" like here. Look at it this way. Heaven is eternal... that's a long time. Don't you think that after a billion years that you might get a little board with a "huge orgy"? And still have an eternity left for more orgy? (even with 72 virgins). No, those that make it to heaven will be different, changed. By all descriptions, content. Can you explain colour to a tree? Depth to a 2 dimensional being? That's part of where faith comes in. But not just blind faith, understand what and why you believe. It takes some research and searching. Good luck

Okay, look at it logically, if, there is a heaven as they taught or told, what kind of a place can it be ? Everything already done, with nothing for you to do , isn't it ? You have no scope for desire, expectation, challange, plans, seeking, etc. Is this real enjoyment. How long ? Once admitted in heaven, it is supposed to be permanent, nothing could ever go wrong, since you need not do anything what-so-ever, no question of being sent out of heaven, and no further death or end. That is a really pitiable condition -- doomed for eternity in boredom !
So, when you were ignorant, it was easier to offer something like 'heaven' to ensure that you be good. That's all. Now with better maturity, you don't need such 'offers', and can reason out that we can make this very place heavenly !

No, it's not like that. Imagine if you told a little boy that sex was the greatest pleasure adults could indulge in, and he thought about that for a minute, and then he asked you if people were allowed to eat candy bars at the same time. Chocolate is the greatest pleasure he knows, and he can't understand your explanation that a couple in that situation has no time to think about candy, because he has no inkling of the other thing that fills their thoughts. In Heaven, people give glory to a perfect God, and the pleasure of doing that is so great that they simply have no time to think about sex. They have better things to focus their attention on. Think about someone you love very much, and remember what a pleasure it is to tell other people about them and talk about how wonderful they are. Now imagine if that object of your love were truly completely perfect in every way, and that you were also given the ability to express your love and admiration perfectly, both to Him and to all the others present. Would that not be pure joy? And would you not view anything else as an unimportant distraction in comparison?

I believe "heaven" is a state of mind, not a physical place. When we "die", we leave the physical existence and all of it's particular drives behind, we become spirit and our focus then is on things of the spirit. Joy, love, happiness, an ascended state of mind that is pure. To do something is of the physical plane, to be something is of the physical plane.....in spirit, none of that is necessary.

I think the point is to evolve until you become enlightened and do not need a physical body or human desires to exist.

I think this sums up heaven, petty much the same as today's life, not much there
Our Father which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
In Earth, As it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
[For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.]
Amen.]

hmmmm,,,kinda funny question.... But I do see your point . So,,,this leads me to believe, that all that does not come from God ,,,,will not be accepted in to the kingdom of heaven... Things like sexual desires,,,drug addictions,,, thievery,,, liars,,, and ''unholy'' stuff..... This was Gods original plan .......

In heaven, we will no longer have sin, and we will be "unable" to sin, and it is a perfect place of eternal fellowship with God.
