Cyber love is based on fantasy. People reinvent themselves online, and often misrepresent who they are, for who they want to be.
Their cyberbuddies (orcyberlovers) fill in the gaps of information they don't know, with their imagination and what they want this peoson to be like.
This is really innacurate most of the time. It can lead to much disappointment.
Cyber love is for people who are afraid to meet real people face-to-face, afraid to be a disappointment to them, and afraid of themselves. They do not feel sure of their redeeming qualities, and are afraid to read other people.
Social anxiety is one reason people date online, and reinventing themselves is another. It's not real. Lots of people who are unsatisfied in their relationship date online, and rationalize that it is "technically not cheating" BUT IT IS.
If you are single, you are also cheating yourself by being in cyber love. Sure, singles meet singles online, and arrange dates. That is just like personals ads in the paper. But online relationships and cyber love are not real. They are a great way to avoid true intimacy.

Jean Zhao. No way. Is that you? No I don't believe in Cyber Love. You are not in love with a person but rather a computer.

Because it is 2 things at once, REAL and UNREAL - only you choose which road to take and it can work either way. I've done both with the same girl and we now have 2 kids.
