There is medication that a dr can give you to make you have an appetite. After completing my first six months treatment for Lyme disease my Dr put me on one and I thought I was going to eat my self to death! I ate everything! The longest I could go without eating was 1 hour. It was not fun. I would shake when I was not eating. Other than asking your Dr. try something like ensure plus, it has 350 Cal's. It can be expensive. I now use Carnation instant breakfast. With milk it has just as many calories. At night mix you a milkshake with ice cream and instant breakfast. Also good to help gain weight is, peanuts, peanut butter, honey. But if you just don't have an appetite it is so hard to force yourself to eat. I know! I am going through it now. Try the drinks. but use them between normal meals and remember most weight is put on after 6 at night that's why I say drink the milkshake late.

The first thing you should start with is a quality multi-vitamin. Certain vitamin deficiencies can negatively affect appetite.

From there you need to concentrate on gradually increasing your caloric intake. Get into the details of what you are consuming, count your calories and consume a little more every day until you start seeing some progress. You have to condition the body to accept additional calories.

Look to calorie dense foods (flaxseed oils are an extremely helpful and healthy supplement for those in your position) - http://www.gain-weight-muscle-fast.com/food-to-help-you-gain-weight.html . Keep a vaiety in your diet as well, more food choices is a known appetite enhancer.

Also look to strength training (NOT cardio training) to help create a need for extra nutrition.

Weight gain is a slow process. It does take patients. Protein shakes is what you need to start with. Just do it in the right order. eat three meals a day and drink a shake after each meal. If you drink the shake before the meal you will be to full to eat. Drinking the shake after the meal will trick your body and you will get the extra calories and protein to help you gain healthy weight. I will leave you a website with some great nutrition (protein) shakes. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

THIS IS WAT I GOT FROM MY RESEARCH!!!!!
Weight gain should always be in the form of muscle, not fat. If you think you’re too thin and want to gain weight, don’t just stuff yourself with food, especially high fat foods. To build muscle, start a weight-bearing exercise program and make healthy food choices. Be sure to get a medical checkup before you start any exercise program.Stay away from bad fat! Even though weight gain is your goal, you don't want to be gaining fat and eating junk. Get rid of the chips and candy. No more fast food, nothing fried. Stick to high protein, low (saturated) fat foods like tuna fish (and other seafood), chicken breast, turkey, lean meats, rice, pasta, fruits and vegetables, nuts, flax seed oil, etc.WATER! Drink water!but it's that water that will give you the energy you need to gain that weight! Sleep! YES! Sleep! The easiest, yet most over looked step. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. You're gonna need it!
SORRY IF ITS A LITTLE MORE INFO THAN U NEEDED LOL
