The short answer is that Jesus Christ is the One who came to show us the way to live. We've got light on one side (defended by Michael) and dark on the other (defended by Lucifer/Satan). Jesus came down to show us the way to the Light amidst the normal kinds of experiences we have (disease, hunger, political oppression, familial problems, etc.). Jesus also created a universal and everlasting Atonement between man and God, that all may return Home after this life. Part of this last gift of His mortal ministry was His resurrection: "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive" (1 Corinthians 15:22).

That's the short story with rather universal language.

To really get the answer to this question, you'd want to know what he's done and what He's doing. There are two books that I'd recommend that are not typically found in Christian libraries, but are nonetheless true.

The first is the Book of Mormon (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/bm/contents or simply http://www.lds.org/). This is Another Testament of Jesus Christ, a history of prophets that were instructed to leave Jerusalem around 600 BC and cross the ocean to live in the New World. In this book there contains a record of their teachings, of their prophecies of Jesus Christ, and an account of His visit to the New World after His Resurrection (See http://scriptures.lds.org/en/3_ne/11)

The second book is by Dr. James Talmage entitled Jesus the Christ. It is a comprehensive discussion of the mission of Jesus Christ. (See http://deseretbook.com/store/product?sku=0174185)

Warm regards

It's quite easy to answer this question...Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the "hero" that saved sinners like you and me from our sins. He is the Son of Man, our Savior, and the Redeemer. His mission was to fulfill his duties here on Earth to give damaged souls a second chance. His mission included spreading the Word, being an example to other Christians, dying on the cross, and rising up from the dead to let us know that we have eternal life as a gift from heaven. The New Testament is a great source of who He was and what he did. As a devout Christian, I am forever grateful for what He has done for mankind.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Mary. He is both God and Man. His mission was to come to the world as a man and face the struggles that man faces and to over come them. He was to tell the world about His Father. Ultimately He was to die on the cross for the sins of the world. Just like each of us leaves a part of us with those left on earth Jesus' left part of Himself with us. His mission was to spread the Good News of God and to make true God's promise to send a messiah into the world to save the world.

Jesus did just that. He showed love to the unloved, raised the dead, fed 5000 with with 5 fish and 2 loaves of bread, turned water into wine, and triumphed over evil by dying on the cross for the sins of the world and then He rose on the third day and now He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

He lives as an example to all men . Faced temptation and 'peer pressure' yet always chose to do the right thing . With out him we all would be destined to an eternity in hell.

I sounds like an obvious and easy paper to some, but I see what you mean. I really depends on what you want to focus on in your paper. Here are some ideas that you can go off of:
-Prehuman Existence(Joh 3:13; 6:38, 62; 8:23, 42, 58) John 1:1,2)
-How he is the “only-begotten Son (Joh 1:14; 3:16, 18; 1Jo 4:9)
-His Birth on Earth (Ge 19:1-3; Jg 6:20-22; 13:15-20)
-Time of Birth, Length of Ministry (Mt 2:1, 13, 20-22; Lu 1:24-31, 36; 2:1, 2, 7.)
-Time of his death (Mt 26:2; Joh 13:1-3; Ex 12:1-6; 13:4)...

There is so much about him. He recognized that his divine commission called for a preaching work, and he carried it on publicly, in cities and villages, in the temple area, synagogues, marketplaces and streets, as well as in the countryside. (Mr 1:39; 6:56; Lu 8:1; 13:26; Joh 18:20) Like John, he did more than preach. His teaching receives even greater emphasis than his preaching. Teaching (di‧da′sko) differs from preaching in that the teacher does more than proclaim; he instructs, explains, shows things by argument, and offers proofs. The work of Jesus’ disciples, both before and after his death, was thus to be a combination of preaching and teaching.—Mt 4:23; 11:1; 28:18-20.

The theme of Jesus’ preaching was: ‘Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ (Mt 4:17) Like an official herald, he was alerting his listeners to his Sovereign God’s activity, to a time of opportunity and decision. (Mr 1:14, 15) As foretold by Isaiah, not only did he bring good news and comfort for the meek, brokenhearted, and mourning ones, as well as proclaim release to captives, but he also declared “the day of vengeance on the part of our God.” (Isa 61:2) He boldly announced God’s purposes, decrees, appointments, and judgments before rulers and people.

Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He was sent here, fully God and fully human, the only sinless man that ever lived. He was crucified for the sins of the world, that whoever believes in Him shall not die but live forever in the kingdom of Heaven. He is the way, the truth, and the life. We are to immitate His life, obey Him, live in Him and rest in Him. God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. Jesus' death took away the sting of death, through His death on a cross. Because of His life, we have the New Testament. By His grace, (which means undeserved merit or favor), we are saved. When we are born again, that means that we die to the "old self" and become reborn -- that is once we declare with our voice that Jesus is Lord, and that we believe in Him, asking forgiveness for our sins, believing with our heart that He died for our sins, we are "new", made "alive" in Him. That means that we are washed with the blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross, sanctified, and the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of our soul. Being reborn means we no longer walk in darkness. Nothing can take away our salvation. Once we invite Christ to be our savior, our life is changed, and we are no longer slaves to sin. He is the Light of the World, the Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, our Kinsman Redeemer. He promised that He will return to this world, once He has made a place for us in Heaven. His second coming is fast approaching.

i suggest Romans 5-8... Paul was a huge opponent of Jesus in the beginning, a pharisee, a tax collector..everyone hated him. but when he met Jesus and accepted Him, the "scales" fell from his eyes and He saw how wonderful Jesus' message was... that him, the biggest sinner, could be loved and forgiven and accepted as Jesus' child, regardless of past, present and future sins. i think it was Jesus' mission to spread the good news, the gospel, that His death would free everyone from the bondage of sin, and give everlasting life. not just in heaven, but a life here on earth that can be so blessed, so righteous, so wonderful, as long as we take that path and live daily with joy and peace, no regrets; we are humans and make mistakes, and that is OK because we still have tomorrow to change, we can learn from our mistakes and become BETTER tomorrow. Paul represents us, who think we are bad, we think we are sinners, even if we are Christians we feel bad about sinning... he is a prime example of the goodness that Jesus' gospel could do if we just accepted and lived joyously from it...... i belive that was His mission..good luck! :)

Jesus Christ is the incarnation of the holy ghost and embodiment of innocence of a child, intellegence of a child with no filth in eyes or thought, he is pure love he is the child of Holy mother who created the universe, he has control over all the elements of nature.
He is the protector of the inocent devotees and believers
He is the alpha and the omega as mentioned in the Bible and has promised in the bible that he will send a comfortor who will help humans to evolve and attain their self realisation and he has described self realisation as the time when the holy ghost will open our path to attain self realisation and appear before us with tons and tons of silent cooling flames
Jesus's greatest message to the world is of forgiveness which is the mantra to attain self realisation
may Lord Jesus bless everyone who belives in him and also the ones who dont belive in him as he is a protector of everyone
Amen

cool - check out the new book "Misquoting Jesus" Here you will learn that words attributed to jesus were clearly never spoken by him, as they don't appear in the copies of the gospels for centuries, then all of a sudden pop up. learn about all the gospels the church wouldn't let in, learn about the commonalities between judeo-christian myths and other myths from that region. learn that no contemporaries of jesus wrote about him. none. learn that the romans executed 3000 messiahs on crosses in the century around jesus' day.

he said his mission was to turn child against parent, to make the high low and the low high. he wanted to upset a foul social order and he wanted to break the grip of corrupt organized religion on the minds of the people. in the gospel of judas, it is recorded that he knew this would fail, as he said his apostles were pedophiles and murderers who would lead everyone astray. well, he got that right!

His mission was to save us from our sin and to bring us back to God. Just read through the gospel. I'm sure that you can find some supporting detail in there.
