Yes a person can have a bladder infection and not know it, at least in the beginning. Eventually symptoms will appear. If bacteria is passed into the urethra of either partner from an infected partner, I guess you could get a bladder infection. It's good practice to urinate after sex.

A bladder infection is usually obtained from oneself and not from another person. It is usually caused by infection of the E.Coli bacteria which is in the colon. (wipe front to back to prevent catching.) Older women can have a mild bladder infection and not know it, but other age groups usually have significant symptoms and know immediately when they are getting one. It is not considered an STD, but sex can promote getting one because the urethra may be inflamed so women are advised to urinate after sex to prevent getting a bladder infection.

It you have an UTI, trust me you will know it.

Unusually frequent urination
An intense urge to urinate
Pain, discomfort or a burning sensation during urination
Pain, pressure or tenderness in the area of the bladder (midline, above or near the pubic area)
Urine that looks cloudy, or smells foul or unusually strong
Fever, with or without chills
Nausea and vomiting
Pain in the side or mid-to-upper back
Waking from sleep to pass urine
Bedwetting in a person who has usually been dry at night

Yes in the early stages but it does become painfully self evident in time. Yes, some bladder infections can be passed on.

yes you can have one and not know it til way later. if you find yourself going more often you shuold maybe consider seeing your doc just to be sure. and yes men can get them too least from what ive been told. better to get tested then be sorry. the meds they give you are a b*tch coz they disolve while you are trying to take them but least the infection will be gone
