Well, first of all, get yourself cultured, read a lot of books... Helps you to become interesting.. Also helps you "read" people better, he'll be impressed when you can tell what he's thinking... And as for the physical aspects of impressing... if you read enough, you'll know all about other people's sexual experiences and positions.. Maybe even some tactics or .. strategy's to impress him then... ;)

The idea is to notice specific things unique to him, acknowledge them to him, and this shows him how you feel (which means more than just telling him).
