I'm not trying to label anyone but am curious.
The wisdom he sings about really gets me.
"It's better to burn out than to fade away"
What does that mean to you spiritually
Also
"From Hank to Hendrix
I walked these streets with you
Here I am with my old guitar
Doin' what I do

I always expected
That you would see me through
I never believed in much
But I believed in you

Can we get it together
Can we still stand side by side
Can we make it last
Like a musical ride?"
Your interpretations?

OOh Kinda hard to say what religion or path he would belong to.Is Lyrical Genius a spiritual Path ?? If there was a name for a path of REAL spiritual people who shoot from the heart he would be on it. When I say real, I mean someone who sees the world as it is and tells it as he sees it. I love the entire Harvest Moon album, in fact I now have to go and buy a 3rd copy of it as the other copies I have had have been more or less played to death.
Hank to Hendrix to me is about a relationship that is hitting a rocky spot but where he is saying that he hasn't changed, he always believed in the partner and in the relationship, still does but is now questioning the outcome.
The track " such a woman" reminds me of being in the arms of someone special, basking in the post orgasmic glow where no-one else in the world can touch what you have together.
ALL the tracks on that album are meaningful... "war of man" especially so in these troubled times. When I am in the mood for a bit of REAL intimacy with my other half, I like to listen to this album and also "Making Love...." The best of Air Supply

Whatever path he is on, it is an honest one if he sings from the heart and his songs are too personal and intimate with too much feeling for them not to be from his heart.

Neil Young has made some great music, but I wish all great musicians would know it off with their 60's mentality of trying to effect change through their forays into politics or morality.
They need to make music and shut up about othe things.
Haven't they learned from John Lennon or even Natilie(what's her name? from the DixieChicks) that their mouths can derail their careers?
