Ok, there is no sure-fire way to tell when you ovulate, but it is normally 14 days after the first day of your period. You can get pregnant for about 3 days before (mostly girls are conceived on this end) to 2 days after (mostly boys). So you were fertile Aug 1-5 if you are "normal".

If you aren't normal, there are a bunch of ways to tell (like the mucus), but the easiest way to tell is your mood. If you are hornier than ever (like even your 80 year old neighbor is looking good) then you are fertile. Stop stressing, have a glass of wine and enjoy trying to conceive. My favorite method is the 30 day test-- have sex every day for 30 days and hope for a baby.

Good Luck!

www.fertilityfriend.com can really help you, and even gives you a good estimate of when you are ovulating. Another choice would be to do an ovulation kit that you can buy in the HPT aisle of a drug store or grocery.

Also, be sure that you are checking the cervix about the same time everyday. And that you haven't had sex within the last 24 hours or so (semen can seem like stretchy mucous). I also suggest using a basal thermometer (you can buy this at the drug store as well) everymorning before you do anything, take your temp and mark it.

You can put all the info on a chart online (like the ones at fertility friend) and it will help you organise when you are fertile. You might also want to check out http://twoweekwait.com and/or http://twoweekwait.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums
