It can be a lot of fun: you are treated with more dignity from the teachers, you have more challenging subjects you are learning, and you are starting to really mix in differently socially. You'll have a lot of great experiences there.
It can also be an awkward stage: kids are going through puberty, so relationships get a little confusing for a while. Kids start acting out more, and it's time that you start making more choices for yourself: how do you value yourself and what do you want to accomplish in your life? Some of the people you know will make decisions in the next few years that will affect every aspect of their lives: who they will marry, what kind of work they'll have, where they'll live, and really whether they choose to be happy in life or not.
So, relax, enjoy, it'll be fun. Don't worry about growing up too fast. Just be aware that you are starting a new part of your life. As you make wise choices, you will get a peaceful and restful feeling in your heart about who you are and your special contribution in the world.
Good luck!!
